Diapers

I mistakenly bought the "cheap" Costco brand diapers last month and have been using them for weeks counting down until the day they are gone. Apparently Amelia feels the same way because I bought some Huggies last week and put them behind the Costco ones in her diaper basket. She saw me stock them up and was pretty excited to have her "mouse diapers" (they have Mickey Mouse on them) When we ask her to go get a diaper, she digs thru the basket to find the "good ones" to wear. It made us laugh when we realized she did it on purpose. I guess her bottom knows the difference between cheap and expensive. There's no fooling this kid.

This picture has nothing to do with this post, but every post needs a picture.

Time Out??

Amelia has a time out bench, but I don't think she takes us seriously. This is what she looks like when she is in time out. (She also got that really cute purse hanging up behind her for a shower gift. When we go out, she has to fill it up with stuff and then she carries it in the bend of her arm with her hand up like she's really fancy or important. It's hilarious!)

Soccer

On Saturday we were able to get away from the 110 degree heat in the valley and go to a Galaxy soccer game. It was still 88 degrees, but it felt so nice. Amelia loved to get to scream and clap. Every time the team scored a goal, confetti paper would blow over the stadium. The team made 3 goals, so it was pretty exciting. Amelia loved catching the paper. She even got into boo-ing the other team while pointing her fingers at them like the old lady in the Princess Bride. It was so cute.

Future Child of Ours

Philip and I were browsing the Pumpkin Patch website the other night (it's our new favorite store for our kids. Good sales and really cute. I recommend if you have kids) Phil saw this little model and said that is exactly what he expects our baby boy to look like in the future. I am highly suspicious that we would have such a blondie or blue eyes, but I would be very happy. From the ultrasound we know he definitely has those chubby cheeks like Amelia did (does).

Toddler Bed

We changed Amelia's bed into a toddler bed this week and I am so proud of how well she has been doing. She loves climbing in and out of it. She calls it her special bed. She will stay in it in the morning until we tell her to get out. We still can't believe that. It is nice to not have to bend over that rail, and to see how much she loves it. I have come in after she falls asleep and found her sleeping on the pillow with her 3 blankets, 2 bears, 2 baby dolls, and an assortment of books. It makes me smile.

The Kids Room

This is the kids room starting from the door and going around. I redecorated in anticipation for the new arrival. I took out the purple border and made green stripes on the "boy side". We got a rocking chair and ottoman for a screaming deal. I set up a changing table corner. (I know it's shocking I haven't used that with Amelia, but she is too squirmy so we use the floor) I still kept her bug theme and name wall hanging, it is just more integrated now. The bassinet is all set up with all the blankets and animals he has accrued so far. I am finishing a really cute quilt for Amelia's bed. I painted the little sign above the bassinet so if you zoom closer you can see it better. We also have a little art corner next to the bookcase for Amelia because she loves to color, play with play dough and just read there. Of course, she still has her mirror for dress up and her baby doll accessories, so it is still very much a girls room, but I love being in there and spend most of my day with her there.

Belly

For those who are curious what my belly looks like, here it is a couple weeks ago. It's about the same. Just a few more weeks left to go. Can't wait.
