So why is it that when random strangers see that I have a boy and a girl their automatic response is, "so you're done". Last time I checked, there isn't a rule about how many children I can have. And what bothers me the most is since I have one of each, people just assume I wouldn't need anymore? So if Ben had been a girl, would people be saying the same thing or would I be getting comments like, "do you want to have a boy", as if magically I am capable of producing and rearing 3 children and I am no longer crazy for having more than 2 kids. FYI there is very little you can do to control the sex of your baby unless you want to pay for some very expensive and morally questionable procedures, so getting pregnant in hopes of having the opposite sex is still no gaurantee people. I think asking me how many kids I want is a perfectly normal and acceptable question and I am more than happy to share my answer even with perfect strangers. But assuming that you know me and then guilting me into not wanting more children (yes, a woman once told me that "you know in China, you would be considered rich because you have both a girl and a boy" as if I should be grateful and stop while I am ahead) is lame. They are so cute. How can you not love them. And although I am not super interested at this moment in having more kids, I reserve the right to change my mind and I don't want my 3rd child to feel like they are a curse on my house.
