Christmas

I got so many fun books for Christmas. I love to read them. I got a special book from my grandma that is all about me. I like opening presents, but I don't like to be messy so I neatly rip the paper bit by bit and put it in a pile. I think it also makes Christmas last much much longer.

The Beach

Christmas eve we went to the beach and Santa Monica pier. I rode a carousel that went too fast for me and saw birds and dolphins and sea lions.

Weeeee!!!!

I went down the slide at the park all by myself for the first time.

Christmas Lights at the LA Temple

We went to the temple to see all the lights. I loved touching them and seeing the water fountains. I tried to give the spikey light balls a hug but it hurt my face.

The Griffith Observatory

I got to go to the Griffith Observatory with my Uncle Jared and mom and dad. I slept for a long time, but when I woke up, I got to run around and look at planets and play on the grass while the sun set over the city. It was so pretty.

Christmas at the LA Zoo

Since it has been in the 70's and 80's here, we have to improvise on dreaming of winter. Here we are at the zoo enjoying "winter".

Thanksgiving

I went to Utah to see my new cousin Luke and spend some time with my family for Thanksgiving. I had fire turkey for dinner and lots of sweet potatoes. I got to play outside with my cousin Spencer and loved ooohing and aaaahing over the baby. I got to get my picture taken with all my cousins and was really good on the plane. This is the last picture of my binky. When I got back, mom got rid of all mine. How rude.

Happy Halloween!!!

I was Pebbles from the Flintstones this year for Halloween. I learned how to say "pump" which means pumpkin and practiced all night handing out popcorn to mom. Popcorn is my other favorite word because I love singing "Popcorn Popping on the Apricot Tree" and doing all the hand motions.

Cousin Fun at the Cabin

I got to spend the weekend with Galen, Lesley, Bauer, Bailey and their cousin Livia and Grandma. We went on the swing, had a campfire and roasted marshmallows and hot dogs and went rock hunting. Dad and Uncle Galen cut down some trees and I helped saw one. Mom and Aunt Lesley pushed one over with just their hands. I was so excited to see trees fall.

Fun in Zion

This is my first hike in Zion. I learned to say rock and loved running from rock to rock. We rode on the bus and had lunch at Temple of Sinawava. It was really fun. This was much better than the night before, when we drove through here at 3 am and I got car sick all over the car!!!

I got my 1 year pictures taken and I didn't like the lady and tried to run away the whole time. Mom and Dad like the picture that shows the true side of the sitting.

No more Birthday Cake

It's Birthday Time

It's my first birthday today. Mom and Dad sang to me and I had cake for the first time. It was made of my favorite food, bananas, but the flowers were so yummy it's all I wanted to eat. When Dad came home, we had a little party, but they kept taking my picture and that made me shy. I got a baby doll stroller so now I can push that instead of chairs, and a toy telephone that makes lots of noises. It makes me laugh every time I play with it. I got so many other things, but I am so tuckered out, I am falling asleep on dad's lap. Is this what sugar does to me???

Hiking in Malibu Canyon

A few weeks ago we went hiking in Malibu Canyon. There is a waterfall and you are supposed to be able to see the ocean from the trail but the trail was eroded and we ended up hiking the whole way with 2 bus loads of Asian tourists. We ended up waiting in line to see the waterfall and never got to see the ocean. I didn't mind, because so many people stop to tell me I'm cute and dad carried me the whole way. I showed him my thanks by tickling his neck and patting his back for encouragement. I got to eat nectarines and chew on the Camelbak end.

Summer in the Park

This summer we went to see movies in the park that Unky Jim is in charge of. This week we saw the Wizard of Oz and there was a witch running around and I got to blow bubbles. I didn't think it was scary, just weird. I like going because I get to be outside and I get to have chicken and lots of snacks while we watch. I always try to drink Uncle Shawn's soda and he thinks it's so funny.

Mom and I were playing dress up again. I love this dress so much I wouldn't take it off. Who says you can't look glamorous all the time?

ZZzzzZZZzzzz....................

Now that I am walking, I can hardly stay awake for lunch. I am so exhausted, just let me sleep for a little longer.

Videos!!!

Check it out, this is me walking (and screaming) and stickin' banana's on my head. Banana's are kinda my favorite food, or as I call them anananananananana's. Although kidney beans are pretty high on my list too.

Music

I wish you could see my latest videos. I love to dance. Whenever I hear a tune, even a jingle on a cell phone I stop what I am doing and dance. Uncle Shawn gave me a percussion set and I love to drum and jingle the bells and make as much noise as I can. I am starting to walk now too. I took my first few steps alone last week. Mom and dad get such a kick out of it. I mostly walk to dad because he seems to be most impressed with it. I am also a good singer. I like to sing along to the radio, sirens, doors creaking or any other weird noises.

The Zoo

I get to go to the zoo a lot. Last week we went to the Santa Barbara Zoo with Uncle Shawn. Then we went around town and to the beach. There were over 12 weddings we saw since it was 7/7/07. I like the monkeys at the LA Zoo because they have some babies and they come over to me. I also like the tiger, but he doesn't like his house so he doesn't move much. Mom loves the orangutans because there is a baby that she says looks just like me. How rude. Dad made me take a picture with all the monkey families to prove it.

Big People Food

Now that I have 2 big bottom teeth, I can eat a lot more yummy food. I love bananas, veggie burgers, graham crackers, kidney beans and applesauce. I am not much of a meat eater. Mom tries and disguises it with other food but I can still taste it and manage to spit out the meat but still eat the other stuff. I think that's why she started the veggie burgers. I also like tofu ice cream sandwiches, but dad says mom is not allowed to give them to me too much, but she sneaks them to me when he's not around.

Zion

One day Uncle Jared was in a race in St George, so we all went there. Uncle Mitch watched us while mom, dad, Uncle Jared and Aunt Rachelle went to the temple and sealed my Great Grandma and Great Grandpa Rebello together. Then we spent some time in the burning hot parking lot of a Walmart when dad's car wouldn't work. I think it is his punishment for mom and dad buying stuff from there. After that, my Uncle Mitch had to go home, so we went back to the cabin and played around. It was a really fun time and I didn't want to go home the next day, so I cried most of the way.

Hot dogs and S'mores

We also had a campfire and cooked hot dogs and S'mores. I can't wait until I can eat S'mores, but I can wait to eat hot dogs. All the cousins got t-shirts that said "Hansen Family Reunion" on them. They were pretty cute, but when I wear mine, people think I am a boy so I use it for jammies now. I was mean to my cousin Caleb and stuck my tongue out at him in this picture because he kept bugging me. It wasn't very nice, but Jacob thinks it's funny.

Family Reunion Fun

When we got to the cabin, we had so much fun. We went on a scavenger hunt all over the road and trail. Uncle Jared brought an ice cream maker and we made ice cream that everyone said was delicious, but I don't know for sure. Then we went to the lake one day and had a picnic. We raced boats in the water and ate watermelon and everyone got a really bad sunburn except me. To cool off, we had a water gun fight.

Salt Lake in June

In June, I got to go to my mom's family reunion. First we went to Salt Lake so my cousin Spencer could get baptized. I got to meet my Uncle Mitch for the first time and my Uncle Jared fed me red jello at the Beehive house. After that, I got to spend a few days at Grandma and Grandpa's house with my other cousin Spencer. We went swimming and got to see his new house in Kaysville. I also got to see my Nebeker cousins and do a whole bunch of shopping. Then we headed to Grandma and Grandpa's cabin.

Vacation to South Dakota

In May, I was able to go on vacation to see all my Brindley cousins. I have never been to South Dakota before. It was so fun to have lots of people to play with. I got to play with the dog too, but he is a little scary when he licks me. I got lots of hugs from my cousin Caleb. He always wanted me to just stay in one place so when I would try to get away, he would sit on me. Luckily I was strong enough to get away most of the time. I got to play with mom's flower that Jacob gave her for Mother's day. I also ate side by side with Caleb so he could give me all the food he didn't want to eat. I also got a pedicure and I got to go swimming.

Books

This is my bookshelf. I have a lot of books for someone who can't read. Whenever my mom and dad let me play in their room, I like to play with my books. I know exactly which ones are mine and the first thing I do is take them all off the shelf. Then I like to sit on top of the pile of books and open and close them. Sometimes if no one is watching me closely, I like to open up scriptures because the pages are so much more fun to turn, but mom doesn't like that and always catches me. Some of my favorite books are "The Foot Book" by Dr Seuss, "The Very Hungry Caterpillar" by Eric Carle and "The Big Hungry Bear" by Don and Audrey Wood. I also love my soft book that is all about baby animals. My favorite animal to point to is the dog, and I like to here mom and dad make duck sounds because I can do it too, but I love to pet the lamb because it is soo soft.

Summer is here

I love the pool at my house. Almost everyday after lunch, mom and I (and sometimes even dad) go swimming in the pool. At first it was really cold, but now they heat it and it feels so good I don't want to get out. I am learning to kick around in my ladybug floater. When we are inside, I like to sit in it also. Mom and dad think it is funny, so I mostly do it to make them laugh. I have a really dark tan from being in the pool and it makes dad really jealous.

The Best of the Beach

Finally, it has been warm enough for me to wear a swimsuit at the beach!! I loved it. I was so excited to go to the water, I wouldn't let mom finish dressing me. This time instead of eating sand, I tried to drink dad's Dr Pepper, but I couldn't figure out how to open it.

Ri-jaluit

I made some new friends tonight that just came all the way from the Marshall Islands where my mom and dad used to live. I liked having some people to play with me and new hair to pull. Plus I got to get a lot of sympathy from fake falling.

Easter

This is my Easter dress that mom made. I like the way I look in it but in order to stay thin enough to fit into it, I throw up a lot. But, as they say in Hollywood, that's the price of beauty.

Standing

Look at me! I am standing now. I've tried the crawling thing and I can only go so far with that, but standing is so fun. I like it partly because it requires my parents to give me their full attention and they act so excited when I do it. It's so easy to humor them. All I have to do is act suprised at what I am doing and they eat it up. Wonder how long I can get away with that? I also just got a walker and now I can move around the house and get to things so much faster. Now there is no place mom can go without me following.

The Beach

My mommy and I decided to go to the beach on St Patrick's Day because my dad was very busy with school stuff. It was very hot at home, but when we got to the beach, it was so cold I couldn't even wear my swimsuit. It was still fun because we got to use our new beach umbrella and I got to crawl in the sand. I liked digging around and finding treasures, but mom kept throwing them away before I could taste what a beach treasure is like. Maybe next time I will sneak some when she's not looking.

Clothes

I LOVE clothes. Especially pink ones. Sometimes my mom will make my try on a bunch of clothes to see if I fit in them yet and whenever I get to do that I squeal and kick my feet with excitement. I love the color pink and if we go shopping I will always grab for the pink things they hold up for me to see. When I was a baby, I didn't really like to be naked, but I am getting used to it now, especially when I have shoes and maybe an accessory. I also like to ham it up for the camera and strangers. Sometimes my mom and I go to the mall so dad can study and people will stop to smile at me so I give them the biggest smile back so they will melt over me.

Funny Faces

I can make a million different faces, but this one is my favorite. I like to use it if something doesn't taste good or if I don't want to laugh and my dad is tickling me or if there is a camera and I don't feel like having my picture taken. I also like to do it a lot right now while I am trying to cut my front teeth. I think I like it the because it always makes my mom and dad laugh.
