July 4th Fun

For the 4th of July we enjoyed a nice day at the beach. Naomi (my niece visiting from South Dakota) enjoyed jumping the waves most of the day. Later we went to the park in Woodland Hills and enjoyed some music and a great fireworks show. Amelia liked the lights, but hated the sounds they made. She insisted that we each hold our hands up to her ears even after they ended.

Come out Brother

Amelia loves to look at my huge belly. Usually she gives it hugs or kisses or raspberries and says "hi" to her brother. Today she approached my belly and lovingly said to it, "come out, brother!" Amen to that.

Huge

So if you didn't notice in the Soccer post how huge my belly has gotten since the last belly picture, here's another chance to see. I'm thinking this is going to be a good sized baby, and by the feel of my off and on contractions, he might be coming soon. The only way to keep cool last week was to sit in the frigid pool. Amelia loves sunglasses and the water and all the accessories she gets to wear along with swimming (hat, glasses, Nemo swim diaper, special lotion or as the normal person might say, sunscreen, and her bug floaty) She even wears my sunglasses when she "works" on the computer. If you aren't fast enough at catching her, she deletes files and installs programs in seconds. One time I caught her starting Itunes and she had managed to play her favorite song on our playlist. It was totally coincidence, but it was still pretty tricky.

Diapers

I mistakenly bought the "cheap" Costco brand diapers last month and have been using them for weeks counting down until the day they are gone. Apparently Amelia feels the same way because I bought some Huggies last week and put them behind the Costco ones in her diaper basket. She saw me stock them up and was pretty excited to have her "mouse diapers" (they have Mickey Mouse on them) When we ask her to go get a diaper, she digs thru the basket to find the "good ones" to wear. It made us laugh when we realized she did it on purpose. I guess her bottom knows the difference between cheap and expensive. There's no fooling this kid.

This picture has nothing to do with this post, but every post needs a picture.

Time Out??

Amelia has a time out bench, but I don't think she takes us seriously. This is what she looks like when she is in time out. (She also got that really cute purse hanging up behind her for a shower gift. When we go out, she has to fill it up with stuff and then she carries it in the bend of her arm with her hand up like she's really fancy or important. It's hilarious!)

Soccer

On Saturday we were able to get away from the 110 degree heat in the valley and go to a Galaxy soccer game. It was still 88 degrees, but it felt so nice. Amelia loved to get to scream and clap. Every time the team scored a goal, confetti paper would blow over the stadium. The team made 3 goals, so it was pretty exciting. Amelia loved catching the paper. She even got into boo-ing the other team while pointing her fingers at them like the old lady in the Princess Bride. It was so cute.

Future Child of Ours

Philip and I were browsing the Pumpkin Patch website the other night (it's our new favorite store for our kids. Good sales and really cute. I recommend if you have kids) Phil saw this little model and said that is exactly what he expects our baby boy to look like in the future. I am highly suspicious that we would have such a blondie or blue eyes, but I would be very happy. From the ultrasound we know he definitely has those chubby cheeks like Amelia did (does).
