2 car family

Philip finally got a car!!! (this is not ours but a look a like) A 2008 Prius in "silver pine"(light green). It is so fun and nice to have a NEW car (only 6 miles on it) and now 2 cars. Amelia seems to think it is a toy because every time we go out to it she calls it a bike. It makes us laugh, but it took Phil a few times to not be hurt by her cut on his choice of transportation. Makes me itchy for road trips.

"do it"

Amelia is really gaining her independence. She wants to do everything herself and tells you "do it" if you try to help her with anything. She's getting pretty good at feeding herself, somewhat dressing herself, putting shoes on and lots of other things. She's saying so many fun things and is starting to become more conversational and expresses her opinions and feelings.

Hiking in Zion

We were able to get away a few weekends ago and spend some time with family in Southern Utah. We spent one day hiking in Zion. Amelia loves getting a ride but really wants to do it herself. (like everything)

Easter

Amelia enjoyed her Easter basket with lots of jelly beans, stickers, socks and gummy candies. We hid the eggs around her room after she knew there was candy inside. She found all of them surprisingly very well, but neurotically had to open each one and send jelly beans flying every time. She liked chewing on the jelly beans but then gave them to me. This picture shows her mouth packed with them, not just chubby cheeks. Hope everyone had a happy Easter.

Censored

Philip was babysitting Amelia so I could do some Primary stuff and put her down for a nap. After she fell asleep he went in to check on her and found her like this. Diaper removed and butt in the air. Luckily no accidents!!! It was too funny to not share and I am sure later in life she will be embarrassed by this so I used the censor to help lessen the nudity.

Warm Weather is Back

So it has been really warm here and we enjoyed some time at the beach this weekend. I like these 2 pictures because they capture how grossed out she is by sand. She wore Philip's socks to walk on it and had to sit on the blanket to play with the bucket. At least this time she was willing to walk on the hard sand by the water all by herself. Baby steps. At this rate in a few years she might actually touch the water.

Daddy's Girl

I love seeing how much Amelia is like her daddy. She loves to give hugs and gets mad if he leaves and she doesn't want him too. All day she tells me "daddy work" and wants to sing the Primary song about daddy which she knows all the gestures and some words. She has genetically picked up some of his quirks like how they hold her toothbrush sideways, laugh at weird things, love pumpkin cookies, prefer reading over anything, have the same taste in clothing, don't care about eating meat, loves her head being scratched and rubbed, loves the same weird underground songs and so many others. I think, other than her eyes, she looks so much like him as a baby. It's hard to imagine a little boy after having so much fun with a little girly girl.
