We experienced a 5.4 earthquake this morning. When it started to get a little strong, I rushed out to get Amelia, who was in the kitchen drawing. She was a little scared, maybe because I rushed out and grabbed her then rushed back for Ben. We stood in the door for a little while to make sure it was all done, then checked the house. Only a few items fell off the shelf in the closet, but luckily no pictures fell off the walls or anything like that. While all this is happening, I was on hold with AT&T trying to resolve some internet issues. Phil called, and I mistakenly didn't answer, which sent him in a slight panic and he rushed home to check on us. (I have been told that next time I will answer his call and hang up on AT&T) He works on the top floor of a 12 story building, and has to endure a far scarier experience of shaking and swaying in an earthquake, and when I didn't answer, he was left thinking that our very old and poor quality apartment had crumbled. He was very relieved to find us all OK. I think this picture of Ben shows what he might of looked like if he had been awake and understood that feeling of shaking was not the earth lulling him back to sleep!! As this was all happening, I was thinking to myself, if this is the "big one" at least I just went shopping and we have an abundance of food, water and milk. :)

wow, I am glad I do not live in California right now!
How scary! I have never been in an earthquake and I can't imagine what it feels like!
